Leave A Legacy In Your Will

What is a legacy?

A legacy is a special gift left in your Will which is a crucial source of our funding and plays a significant role in giving Carers a brighter future. As a bonus, because this is a gift to Charity it is exempt from tax, so it may reduce the amount of inheritance tax for which your estate is liable.

Writing a Will is essential to enable you to provide for the people and causes you care about. We understand that your loved ones come first. All we ask is that once you are happy that you have taken care of your family you consider our work and the vital support it offers hundreds of Carers.

Making a Will is one of the most important things you will ever do. It is the only way to be sure that your loved ones will benefit in accordance with your wishes. It is also far less complicated that you might think.

Although it is possible to write a Will by yourself it is advisable to use a solicitor, specialising in estates and probate law, as there are various legal formalities you need to follow to ensure your will is valid.

You can make an amendment to an existing Will with the addition of a 'Codicil'.

We can provide you with contact details of local solicitors.  We cannot, however, recommend the services of any solicitor in particular.

Your legacy will make a real difference to Carers:
£1,000 - could give 40 Young Carers a day trip away, letting them be kids for a day.

£20,000 - could provide social activities to reduce isolation.

£45,000 - could help to extend our Volunteer activities including hubs, SITs, 1:1 support, companionship calls.

£100,000 - could be used to employ a member of support staff for 3 years.

How to donate in memory. You can remember your loved one by asking family and friends to make a donation at the funeral or memorial service.
