The Board of Trustees are currently seeking TRUSTEES  

Carer Support Carlisle & Eden is a registered charity providing vital support to the numerous people in Carlisle & Eden. Join our team helping to improve the lives of unpaid Carers in Carlisle & Eden. An unpaid Carer looks after a family member, relative, friend or neighbour who could not manage without their help; we support over 850 individuals in Carlisle and Eden who are caring for a loved one with a disability, mental health, degenerative condition, addictions or frailty.

We are looking for individuals who could give 2-3 hours per month to join our committed team of non-executive Trustees.  Trustees do not have an operational role, instead providing oversight and advice to ensure we continue delivering an exceptional and highly valued service to Carers.  Our current board of Trustees come from a wide range of occupations and life history experiences.

Student Work Placements

Carer Support Carlisle & Eden has been involved in the training of social workers for a number of years and is committed to ensuring University students have an experience which will equip them for the challenging role they will have as qualified social workers. 

Carer Support Carlisle & Eden work with both Adult and Young Carers giving students the opportunity to build a wide range of skills. Carer Support Carlisle & Eden use a client based therapeutic approach, using an assessment, planning, intervention and review based model.

Throughout the placement, a student should contribute and communicate with a wide range of professionals and will develop multi-professional working skills to provide the best support for the Carer.

Finally, Carer Support Carlisle & Eden enjoys having University students and welcomes the challenge and fresh out-look students bring to the team.
