INFORMATION SERVICES TO CARERS Part of our core funding from Cumbria County Council, via
Social Services, is given to us to enable us to
offer information to carers which will help them in their caring role.
This can be extremely varied: ü
Helping carer and cared for to
access appropriate respite. ü
Helping carers to access Social
Services or Occupational Therapy services. ü
Signposting carers to services
such as advocacy or counselling. ü
Helping carers to locate
specialist equipment. ü
Helping carers to access
appropriate medical information. ü
Helping carers to access
appropriate training. ü
Referring a carer to the most
appropriate organisation to help them or their cared-for, e.g. Parkinsons’
Disease Society, Age Concern etc. ü
Helping a carer moving to a new
geographical area to find a local Carers Association. ü
Helping a carer to find
