CUMBRIA CARERS ASSOCIATIONS

Cumbria Carers Associations comprises Eden Carers, West Cumbria Carers, South Lakes Carers Association, Furness Carers and Carlisle Carers.

Collectively we have negotiated with Cumbria Social Services countywide to establish our core funding and to carry out Carers' Assessments.  This has enabled all of the associations to improve services.  Now, with complete county coverage we are accepted at strategic level for both adult and young carers, and are consulted about carers' issues on a regular basis.

In 2003 we joined the national network of Carers Centres represented by the Princess Royal Trust for Carers, who will work with us to further develop our services.
